Some things can't be measured at the tap. Certified lab testing answers questions about wells, lead, PFAS and bacteria, and the cost is credited toward an install.

The one that matches what you've noticed, confirmed by a test at your tap. Here is how each common complaint maps to a system.
Crust on fixtures and spots on glasses?
That is hardness, and the fix is water softener installation, sized from your measured grains per gallon. Where city water is already soft, we won't sell you one.
A pool smell in the shower, or chlorine taste in every glass?
That is the disinfectant, usually chloramine on the Front Range, and the fix is a whole house water filter with catalytic carbon sized for your flow.
Buying bottled water, or asking about lead or PFAS?
That is a drinking water question, and the fix is under-sink reverse osmosis at the kitchen faucet, ideally with a lab test to show the before and after.
On a private well?
Start with well water testing at a certified lab, then a well water filtration system built from the result. Colorado doesn't regulate private wells, so the lab result is the only map you get.
